Surveys show that staff regularly have between 11 and 15 meetings per week and managers have up to 37 meetings per week. That means that more than half of your working time might be spent in meetings.

At Teal Systems we have identified five levels of meetings culture. You can read these below and between now and June 20th you can complete the short online survey that allows you to find out where your meeting culture ranks and receive tips on how to improve it.

Which culture do you have?
1
Level 1: Meeting Madness
The place where meetings happen, but no one knows why. Staff are left confused and exhausted.

Level 2: Haphazard Huddles
A culture where meetings happen often, but with little direction and purpose. The solution to the lack of clarify in the last meeting? Another meeting of course...
Staff are frustrated and wish their time was better spent.
3
Level 3: Mediocre Muddling
Meetings occasionally are productive and even if it's not consistent, it is enough for the team move forwards albeit inefficiently. Staff motivation fluctuates hugely.

Level 4: Productivity Potential
Meetings are generally well considered and the culture shows some examples of excellence but haven't quite reached their peak. Staff feel engaged and work moves at a decent pace

Level 5: Efficient Ensemble
Where meetings feel like the being in the world's great concert orchestras. Everyone knows their role, the conductor makes sure everyone is on track and experience is uplifting. Here, meeting culture drives productivity and staff look forward to meetings knowing that if will be a valuable use of their time.
